Police search for juvenile suspect in Lewiston shooting

LEWISTON — Police are searching for a juvenile suspect after a shooting on Pierce Street late Thursday night.

Officers responded to the area of 144 Pierce St. around 11 p.m. on Sept. 18 following multiple reports of gunfire.

Two vehicles and an apartment building were struck by bullets, but no injuries were reported.

Witnesses told police the suspect had been firing at another individual, who also fled before officers arrived.

Investigators determined the suspected shooter, described as a young male, entered 158 Blake St. after the incident.

The Maine State Police Tactical Team assisted in executing a high-risk search warrant at that address Friday afternoon.

Evidence was seized during the search, but the suspect was not located.

No further identifying information can be released because the suspect is a juvenile.

The investigation remains active.
