BOSTON — Police arrested a Dorchester man on drug charges Friday afternoon in the city’s Roxbury neighborhood.
Jose Mendes Rodrigues, 25, was taken into custody at approximately 1:16 p.m. on Sept. 19.
The arrest was made by members of the District C-6 Drug Control Unit, assisted by the Citywide Drug Control Unit and the FBI Metro Boston Gang Task Force.
Officers executed an arrest warrant issued that day by Roxbury District Court for distribution of crack cocaine.
A motor vehicle stop was initiated in the area of Georgia Street and Hartwell Street.
A search warrant was executed on the suspect’s person during the arrest.
During booking at the Nashua Street Jail, officers recovered a plastic bag containing approximately 33 grams of crack cocaine.
The narcotics were packaged into 31 smaller bags.
Mendes Rodrigues is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of distribution of Class B drugs.
