Rome police search for missing woman last seen after jail release

ROME — State Police are actively searching for Caitlyn M. Hand, age 37, of Canandaigua, who has been reported missing by family members following her release from Oneida County Jail on Sept. 14.

Hand is described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, with long blonde hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen by law enforcement shortly after her release, walking on foot through a well-lit parking lot in the direction of Rome.

At the time, she was wearing a blue shirt, light beige pants, and white sneakers, and was carrying a black crossbody purse.

Troopers received a tip from a witness who reported seeing Hand at the Hampton Hotel recently in Rome.

However, it is now believed she may have traveled to the Rochester area.
