Motorcycle, car crash injures 2 on Whitingham highway

WHITINGHAM — A motorcycle and car collision on VT-100 at Fowler Road sent both drivers to hospitals with injuries Friday afternoon.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. under clear weather conditions on dry roads, according to Vermont State Police.

Michael C. Sjoberg, 57, of Newton, Massachusetts, was operating a 2025 Ducati Monster motorcycle when the collision occurred.

Sjoberg was not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

He was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for treatment.

The second vehicle was a 2025 Honda CR-V operated by Sandra Lopez Nieves, 50, of Whitingham.

Lopez Nieves was wearing a seat belt and sustained suspected minor injuries.

She was transported to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.

Both operators are in stable condition, police said.

The crash remains under investigation.
