Rhode Island police arrest 2 men on separate charges

LINCOLN — Members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Matthew Shevlin, 28, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, on Sept. 17 for possession of child pornography.

Shevlin was transported to the Lincoln Barracks, processed, and transported to Sixth District Court.

Shevlin was arraigned by Chief Judge Lafazia, who issued $2,500 surety bail with special conditions of no unsupervised contact with minors and restricted internet access.

On the same day, members of the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Xavier Boyer, 22, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on an affidavit and arrest warrant from the Pawtucket Police Department.

Boyer faces charges of domestic breaking and entering, domestic assault by strangulation, and domestic simple assault.

Boyer was taken into custody without incident and turned over to the Pawtucket Police Department.
