Palmyra man arrested for criminal mischief while in custody

PALMYRA — Police arrested a Lyons man for Criminal Mischief while he was already in custody for a separate incident Sept. 14 at approximately 4:27 p.m.

Christopher Ford, a registered sex offender currently out on parole, traveled from Lyons to the Village of Palmyra to meet with a person he believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

While in custody, Ford damaged property inside the Palmyra Police Station, resulting in a charge of Criminal Mischief in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony.

After it was determined that the initial crime occurred outside the Village of Palmyra, Ford was turned over to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

He was processed and transported to the Wayne County Jail for CAP Court, where he was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff’s Office pending further court proceedings.
