UTICA — Investigators with the GIVE Unit partnered with New York State Parole Officers conducting details in GIVE Hot Spot areas noticed an altercation in the Oneida Square area on Sept. 12.
As officers approached, the individuals involved entered a nearby parked vehicle.
When officers began speaking with the occupants, they noticed what appeared to be the handle of a firearm protruding from a rear seat pocket.
All occupants were removed and detained, and officers discovered the weapon was a loaded .38 caliber revolver.
Five males were transported to the Utica Police Department.
None of the males claimed ownership of the firearm during the investigation.
Nyreek L. Loadholt, 27, of Utica, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree with previous conviction, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree for a defaced firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm.
Xzavier T. Ross, 30, of Utica, faces the same charges as Loadholt.
Robert L. Garner, 33, of Mohawk, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree with previous conviction, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree for a defaced firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm.
Davonte K. Gary, 24, of Utica, faces the same charges as Garner.
Kevin B. Small, 32, of Utica, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree for a defaced firearm, and criminal possession of a firearm.
