Greenwich police investigate student grabbed while walking to school

GREENWICH — The Greenwich Police Department continues to investigate an incident that occurred Sept. 11 where an Eastern Middle School student was grabbed from behind by an unknown adult while she was walking to school.

Residents have been extremely helpful in providing information which has developed several leads that are being followed up on.

Anyone with information about this incident, or video surveillance footage from the area of Lockwood Road between Riverside Avenue and South Beach Avenue, is asked to contact the Greenwich Police Department’s Special Victims Section at 203-622-8030.

For several years now, the Greenwich Police Department has had additional police personnel assigned during the school day to provide enhanced security to schools.

In the wake of this incident, additional patrol officers have been assigned to the area and there are several detectives following up on all leads.
