Albany police arrest 6, recover handgun and fentanyl in Columbia Street raid

ALBANY — Six individuals were arrested Tuesday night after Albany Police Department detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Columbia Street near North Pearl Street.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit conducted the search around 9 p.m. Sept. 16 as part of an ongoing investigation.

During the search, detectives recovered a loaded 9mm handgun and a quantity of fentanyl.

All six individuals found inside the residence were taken into custody.

Richard Brito, 47, of Albany was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

He was given an appearance ticket and will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on a later date.

Deanna Cuzco, 37, of Albany was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

She was given an appearance ticket and will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on a later date.

Kavon Lucas, 33, of Albany was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

He is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Albany City Criminal Court.

Carissa McCullough, 29, of Albany was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

She was given an appearance ticket and will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on a later date.

Taylor Williams, 28, of Albany was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

Williams was also arrested on several outstanding warrants and is scheduled to be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court this morning.

Deion Taylor, 25, of Troy was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

He was given an appearance ticket and will appear in Albany City Criminal Court on a later date.
