SHELDON — A 17-year-old driver suffered minor injuries after crashing into an electrical pole on Sweet Hollow Road near Deer Run at approximately 9:27 p.m. Monday.
The juvenile from Sheldon was traveling south on Sweet Hollow Road in a 2014 Ford Focus when the vehicle left the roadway after navigating a curve.
The Ford came to an uncontrolled rest after striking the utility pole, causing it to fall into the roadway.
The crash resulted in a temporary road closure while crews worked to clear the scene and repair the pole.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Northwestern Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The vehicle sustained front-end damage and was removed from the scene.
State police cited the driver for failure to maintain lane.
Weather conditions were clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
Sheldon Fire, AmCare, and Green Mountain Power assisted troopers at the scene.
