Springfield police seize nearly 400 grams of cocaine in stabbing arrest

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Police Detectives and Officers seized a trafficking weight of suspected cocaine and arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing Monday night.

Around 11:00 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Orange Street for a report of a stabbing victim.

Officers located an adult female victim suffering from a non-life-threatening laceration and recovered a knife.

Shortly after, officers located the suspect, identified as Angel Morris, on the 0-100 block of Revere Street at approximately 11:45 p.m.

Morris had entered her vehicle as officers approached the suspect.

Morris was identified and placed under arrest.

Inside the vehicle, detectives recovered approximately 377 grams of suspected cocaine.

Angel Morris, 46, of Springfield is charged with cocaine trafficking 200 grams or more, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and unarmed robbery.
