Mooers man arrested in Route 11 stabbing incident

MOOERS — New York State Police arrested a 64-year-old Mooers Forks man on charges of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon following a stabbing incident Sept. 12.

Acie Wright was taken into custody after troopers responded to Route 11 in the town of Mooers at approximately 2:11 a.m. for a reported stabbing.

The investigation revealed that Wright and the victim had engaged in a verbal argument, during which Wright, armed with a knife, stabbed the victim in the chest.

The victim was transported to Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Wright was arrested and taken to State Police Champlain for processing.

He was subsequently arraigned in the Town of Mooers Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
