Kingston police investigate stabbing of 18-year-old man

KINGSTON — The City of Kingston Police Department responded to a stabbing incident on Liberty Street between Broadway and Prospect Street on Saturday at approximately 6 p.m.

Officers discovered an 18-year-old male who had suffered a deep stab wound to his thigh.

The victim was treated at the scene and transported to HealthAlliance ER by Kingston Fire Department Ambulance.

The victim was treated and released from the emergency room.

Police believe there were two assailants who were possibly known to the victim.

No motive has been established but police do not believe this was a random act.

No domestic relationship was involved in the incident.

The Town of Ulster Police Department is assisting with the investigation.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
