ELMIRA — The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 47-year-old Elmira man as a fugitive from justice on a Pennsylvania assault warrant.
Shaun M. Rychel was arrested Sunday on an extraditable warrant from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, for simple assault.
The sheriff’s office Criminal Investigation Division learned Rychel had an active warrant while he was already being held at the Chemung County Jail on unrelated charges.
Rychel was processed as a fugitive from justice and remains in custody at the county jail.
He will appear in court at a later date regarding extradition to Pennsylvania.
