CLIFTON PARK — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 67-year-old man Thursday on charges of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
Michael J. Barry of Clifton Park was taken into custody following an adult abuse complaint received at 11:48 a.m. Sept. 14.
The alleged incident occurred on Longwood Drive in Clifton Park.
Barry is accused of knowingly acting in a manner likely to be injurious to the physical, mental or moral welfare of a person who was unable to care for themselves because of a physical disability, mental disease or defect.
He faces a charge of endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person in the first degree, a class E felony.
Barry was arraigned before Judge Robert A. Rybak and released to pretrial services pending further proceedings.
The Town of Clifton Park code enforcement officer condemned the residence where the alleged abuse occurred.
“The conditions the victim had to endure were nothing short of appalling,” Sheriff Michael H. Zurlo said.
