Teen driver hospitalized after Richford crash

RICHFORD — An 18-year-old driver from Enosburgh was hospitalized with major injuries after crashing into an electrical pole on Sept. 12.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:50 p.m. on South Richford Road near Bridgeman Road.

The juvenile operator was traveling east on South Richford Road when he left the roadway after navigating a curve.

The 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt came to an uncontrolled rest after hitting the electrical pole.

The operator was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

He was transported to University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

The vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene.

Road conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the crash.

Richford Fire & Rescue assisted troopers at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
