Woodbury police seek man who fled jewelry store after attempted fraud

WOODBURY — A man attempted to purchase a bracelet using a fraudulent ApplePay account at Onyx Jewelry Store on Sept. 11, according to the Woodbury Resident Trooper Office.

The suspect fled the store when employees became suspicious of him, minorly injuring an employee in the process.

The man was wearing a blue sweatshirt with the words “Thats A Awful Lot Of Cough Syrup” on the back.

After leaving the store, the suspect walked toward an awaiting car in the Patco parking lot and entered through the passenger side rear door.

He exited the car after a couple minutes and began walking toward the woodline and Middle Quarter Plaza.

The vehicle left Patco at 3:46 p.m., possibly to pick up the suspect at a different location, according to camera footage.
