CATO — A 30-year-old Lysander man was arrested Sept. 10 on a warrant charging him with petit larceny in connection with a theft at a local convenience store.
Austin J. Bierce was taken into custody at 1:03 p.m. after turning himself in when he spotted patrol cars on Route 370, according to Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck.
The arrest stems from an incident Sept. 7 at approximately 12:51 p.m. when deputies responded to the Speedway Mart in Cato for a reported larceny complaint.
The investigation found that Bierce entered the store and took merchandise without paying for it.
Deputies were unable to locate the suspect the day of the incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Bierce was transported to the Public Safety Building, where he was turned over to Cayuga County Jail for centralized arraignment part arraignment.
