WATERVLIET — Police detectives made an additional arrest Sept. 10 in connection with an incident from the previous day that resulted in the recovery of two handguns.
A 16-year-old male was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a Class C felony.
The juvenile has a prior criminal history in Watervliet, including a 2023 charge for possession and unlawful discharge of a flare gun.
Detectives also charged the juvenile’s guardian, Kierra S. Allen, 37, of Watervliet, with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A misdemeanor.
Allen was charged with failing to provide adequate supervision of the minor.
She was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Watervliet City Court at a later date.
