LEBANON — A 37-year-old Lebanon man was arrested Sept. 10 after police found him loitering outside a closed library in violation of his bail conditions.
Shawn Mooney was spotted by a Lebanon police officer around 10:05 p.m. outside the Kilton Library while the building was closed.
Mooney had been released on bail April 28 by Grafton County Superior Court following arrests March 11 and March 23 on numerous felony charges, including striking a man with a hammer.
His bail conditions prohibited him from being in Grafton County except for special circumstances and required him to observe a curfew from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Officers also discovered Mooney had a Class A felony warrant from New Hampshire State Police Troop C for failure to register as a sex offender.
When informed he was under arrest, Mooney resisted and attempted to flee toward the roadway.
A physical altercation occurred during which Mooney assaulted an officer, causing injuries that required hospital treatment.
The officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Mooney was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where he continued to be combative and assaulted another Lebanon officer and hospital staff members.
Mooney faces additional charges including loitering, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, two counts of criminal threatening, three counts of simple assault and nine counts of breach of bail.
He was taken to Grafton County House of Corrections pending arraignment Sept. 11 at 2nd Circuit Lebanon District Court.
