NICHOLS — New York State Police at Owego were dispatched by the Tioga County 911 Center to a one-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on South Main Street in the town of Nichols at approximately 1 a.m. Sept. 6.
Troopers arrived to find a deceased individual and a heavily damaged Suzuki motorcycle.
An investigation at the scene determined that a Suzuki motorcycle was traveling south on South Main Street when for an unknown reason went off the roadway, striking a utility pole.
The operator was ejected off the motorcycle.
The operator was identified as Donald Lynn Archibald, age 40 of Sayre, Pa., and pronounced deceased on scene.
