HOLYOKE — Three people were arrested Sunday night after police responded to a noise complaint that led to multiple traffic violations, including a woman driving recklessly with an 11-year-old child without a helmet on her motorcycle.

Officers Adelardo Barta and Justo Pagan responded to the area of 333 High Street around 11:30 p.m. after hearing excessively loud music from a block away, according to Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan.

The officers observed numerous motorcycles and a car in a parking lot.

At the sight of police, many of the motorcyclists began to drive away.

One of the motorcyclists attempting to flee the area struck a police vehicle in the bumper.

The rider, later identified as Deborah Sanchez, fell off the motorcycle.

Sanchez continued to attempt to accelerate and flee the area.

As officers stopped Sanchez, a subject later identified as William Vazquez interfered with the officers in an attempt to allow Sanchez to get away.

Sanchez did not have a motorcycle license, and the motorcycle was unregistered and uninsured.

Sanchez and Vazquez were placed under arrest.

While this was occurring, officers observed a woman later identified as Sandra Vazquez riding the wrong way on High Street on a three-wheel motorcycle.

Vazquez also had an 11-year-old on the back of the motorcycle.

The 11-year-old was not wearing a helmet.

Officer Joshua Salas arrived and attempted to conduct a traffic stop of Vazquez.

She did not stop, and with a helmetless child on her motorcycle ran two stop signs, two red lights and again drove the wrong way down a one-way street.

Vazquez finally stopped on Locust Street and was placed under arrest.

The child was released to a family member.

Sandra Vazquez, 27, of Springfield is charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, improper operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police, failure to stop/yield, marked lanes violation, reckless endangerment of a child, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle.

William Vazquez, 33, of Springfield is charged with operating a motor vehicle in violation of license class and interfering with a police officer.
