Waterbury man arrested twice in 12 hours on domestic assault charges

WATERBURY — A 28-year-old man was arrested twice within 12 hours on domestic assault and related charges, Vermont State Police said.

Troopers responded to a report of a domestic dispute in Waterbury on Sept. 8 at approximately 11:17 p.m.

Upon arrival, troopers conducted an on-scene investigation and determined that Corrigan Collier had caused bodily injury to a household member and interfered with emergency services.

Collier was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

He was issued court-ordered conditions of release and a citation to appear in Washington County Superior Court on Sept. 9 at 12:30 p.m.

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 9, troopers were advised that Collier had violated his court-ordered conditions of release.

Investigation revealed that Collier violated his conditions by attempting electronic communication with the protected party shortly after being released.

Collier then violated his conditions again by placing himself within 300 feet of the protected party and entering the protected party’s residence.

He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.

Following processing, Collier was transported to Northeast Correctional Complex and lodged on $1,000 bail.

Collier faces charges of domestic assault, interference with emergency services and violation of conditions of release.
