SPRINGFIELD — A 42-year-old Rutland City man was cited for petit larceny after allegedly stealing marijuana plants from a Springfield residence on Aug. 27.
Matthew Hill was issued a citation following an investigation by the Springfield Police Department.
Police responded to a report of stolen marijuana plants at 5:58 a.m. on Aug. 27.
The investigation determined that a suspect wearing all dark clothing had fled the area.
Officers located a person matching the description on Clinton Street near the Penguin Mart at 6:13 a.m.
The suspect was identified as Hill, and police determined he had stolen the marijuana plants.
The plants were returned to the owner.
Hill was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit on Oct. 14 at 8:30 a.m.
