CAMBRIDGE — Vermont State Police arrested a 41-year-old Morrisville man on suspicion of driving under the influence after a single-vehicle crash Sunday night.
Matthew Lapan was traveling west on Road 101 at approximately 11:33 p.m. when he failed to stop at a stop sign at Edwards Road, according to police.
Lapan drove through the intersection and crashed into two boulders, causing his 2015 Volkswagen Jetta to overturn.
He sustained minor injuries and was transported to Copley Hospital.
Troopers detected indicators of impairment while speaking with Lapan at the scene.
After being medically cleared at the hospital, Lapan was arrested and transported to the Morrisville Police Department for processing.
The crash occurred under clear weather conditions on dry pavement.
Lapan’s vehicle sustained heavy damage.
He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Lapan was issued a citation to appear at Lamoille County Superior Court on Oct. 22 at 8:30 a.m. to answer charges of DUI and driving without a required license.
