MANCHESTER — Manchester Police officers responded to the area of 186 East Center Street for a reported motor vehicle collision at approximately 7:26 a.m. Sept. 9.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a vehicle traveling eastbound, operated by an 83-year-old Manchester resident, struck a parked vehicle located on the eastbound shoulder before subsequently colliding with another vehicle traveling eastbound on East Center Street.
Preliminary findings indicate that the operator may have suffered a medical emergency before the initial collision.
The Manchester Fire Department arrived promptly on scene and initiated life-saving measures.
The operator was transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced deceased.
This incident remains under active investigation and is being overseen by the Manchester Police Department Traffic Unit.
