GENESEO — Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Steuben County resident on felony charges following a traffic stop by the Sheriff’s Office.

On Sept. 5 at approximately 12:01 p.m., Sheriff’s Sergeant Mike Donals conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Village of Geneseo after observing a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Contact was made with the operator, who was identified as 31-year-old Zachary Allen of Arkport.

During the roadside investigation, it was discovered that Allen was operating the vehicle while having a suspended driver’s license.

Allen was also found to be in possession of brass knuckles.

Allen was arrested by Sheriff’s Deputy Justin Hilt and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation in the second degree and violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Allen was transported and turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for arrest processing and pre-arraignment detention.
