MARION — Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team (CINRET-South), Troop D Detectives, and the Plymouth County State Police Detective Unit partnered with Marion Police Officers yesterday afternoon to arrest seven individuals and disrupt a narcotics operation.
Investigators intercepted communication that allowed them to observe a fentanyl transaction between two men.
After the exchange, police arrested the customer and the dealer, seized a large quantity of fentanyl, and secured a residence on Point Road in Marion until they could obtain a search warrant.
Outside the Point Road home, police identified a third man who they placed in custody on two active felony warrants related to a violent armed home invasion in Wareham.
They also arrested a woman at the scene who they found in possession of crack cocaine.
Police received the requested search warrant and entered the residence where they seized approximately 32 grams of fentanyl, 840 grams of cocaine, oxycodone pills, psilocybin mushrooms, a large amount of U.S. currency, and other evidence consistent with drug distribution.
After police completed the initial search, two brothers of the original dealer returned to the residence where they were arrested in connection with the investigation.
A seventh person believed to be a narcotics customer drove to the residence and fled police.
After a brief pursuit, police arrested him for OUI and failure to stop.
Police transported all the individuals to the State Police Bourne Barracks for booking.
