AU SABLE — New York State Police arrested two Plattsburgh residents Sept. 5 after discovering ninja stars during a vehicle inventory following a single-car crash.
Cassandra L. Wright, 32, and Joshua Baker, 37, were both charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
Wright also received a vehicle and traffic ticket.
At approximately 10:25 a.m., troopers responded to a one-car property damage collision on State Route 9N in the town of Au Sable.
An investigation revealed that Wright was operating a gray 2024 Dodge Ram 1500 with Baker as a passenger.
She was traveling west on State Route 9N when she failed to keep right, crossed over the hazard markings, and struck guard wires.
No injuries were reported from the collision.
While speaking with Wright and Baker, the troopers conducted an inventory of the vehicle and discovered ninja stars.
Both Wright and Baker were arrested and transported to SP Keeseville for processing.
They were released on appearance tickets, which are returnable to the Town of Au Sable Court for a later date in September.
