BOSTON — A 45-year-old Roxbury man was arrested Sunday during a multi-district drug control operation that resulted in the seizure of more than 120 grams of cocaine and crack cocaine.

Jorge Ramirez was taken into custody at about 1:48 p.m. Sept. 7 following an extensive investigation by members of the District C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit, District D-14 (Brighton/Allston) Drug Control Unit, and District A-1 (Downtown) Drug Control Unit.

Officers obtained a search warrant from Roxbury District Court on Sept. 2 for Ramirez and his residence at 1113 Harrison Avenue.

On Sunday, investigators established surveillance at the address and observed Ramirez exit the building.

Officers approached and safely detained him without incident.

A lawful search of the residence resulted in the recovery of one plastic bag containing approximately 62 grams of cocaine inside a kitchen cabinet.

Officers also found one plastic bag containing approximately 60 grams of crack cocaine inside a kitchen cabinet.

Three additional plastic bags containing approximately 5 grams of crack cocaine were discovered hidden inside candles.

An undisclosed amount of U.S. currency was also recovered.

Investigators observed additional items consistent with drug distribution, including plastic bags, gloves, a scale, and multiple cell phones.

Ramirez is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of trafficking cocaine, 100 grams or more, less than 200 grams.
