Rutland City man charged with burglary at Stockbridge car dealership

STOCKBRIDGE — A 43-year-old Rutland City man has been charged with burglary and possession of stolen property in connection with a break-in at a local car dealership.

Coy Hill was issued a criminal citation Sept. 6 while lodged at Marble Valley Correctional Facility on separate charges.

Vermont State Police troopers from the Royalton Barracks were notified of the burglary at Ted Green Ford on April 14 at approximately 7:08 a.m.

The complainant told police that when they arrived at work, they discovered numerous items were missing from the dealership and there were visible signs of forced entry.

Investigation identified Hill as a suspect, and a search warrant was executed at his last known residence.

Police determined Hill committed the offenses of burglary and possession of stolen property.

The investigation included members of the Vermont State Police Field Force and detectives from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

The State Police were assisted by members of the Rutland City Police Department.

Hill was ordered to appear at Vermont Superior Court – Rutland Criminal Division on Sept. 15 to answer to the charges.
