WESTMORELAND — A Town of Westmoreland man has been arrested for grand larceny in connection with an incomplete building demolition project.
John Feketa, 58, was charged Sept. 3 with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony, according to Oneida County Sheriff Robert Maciol.
The Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol Unit received a complaint July 9 from a victim who had hired Feketa as a contractor June 13 to demolish a building he owned in the Town of Kirkland.
The contractor was paid $4,000 and the building demolition was never completed.
The case was turned over to the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation.
Feketa was located by the Criminal Investigation Unit and processed at the Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Building.
He was held pending an arraignment in CAP Court.
After arraignment, Feketa was remanded to the Oneida County Correctional Facility without bail.
