Delhi man arrested on drug charges after methamphetamine found during jail intake

DELHI — A Delhi man was arrested on drug possession charges after corrections officers found methamphetamine during his intake at the Delaware County Correctional Facility.

Matthew McLean, 37, was searched at about 2:40 a.m. Friday during his intake on unrelated bail jumping charges.

Corrections officers found a crystal substance folded into a one dollar bill on McLean’s person.

The substance was later determined to be methamphetamine.

At approximately 8:20 a.m. the same day, members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division arrested McLean.

He was charged with one count of promoting prison contraband in the first degree and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.

McLean was arraigned before Judge Matthew Burkert at the Delaware County Central Arraignment Part Court.

He was remanded to the Delaware County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 secured bond.
