WALTHAM — A 32-year-old Waltham man was arrested on gun and drug charges after police stopped a vehicle on Lexington Street by Lincoln Street on Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
Khansee Chalernsouk was charged with multiple firearms violations and drug possession after officers observed him attempting to hide something under a seat during the traffic stop, according to the Waltham Police Department.
The vehicle had been involved in an incident at 699 Moody Street prior to being stopped.
A patrol officer observed the handle of a firearm visible under the seat of the vehicle.
Chalernsouk was removed from the vehicle and did not have a valid license to carry a firearm.
A search of Chalernsouk turned up cash and cocaine packaged in a way consistent with the distribution of narcotics.
The firearm appeared to have serial numbers on the slide and barrel that had been intentionally defaced to make the weapon untraceable.
The gun contained ten rounds of ammunition.
Chalernsouk was charged with carry loaded firearm without license, carry firearm without license, deface firearm serial number, possession of untraceable firearm during felony, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, and possession with intent to distribute a Class B drug.
This marks the sixth arrest involving illegal possession of firearms by the Waltham Police Department in 2025.
