LOUISVILLE — Members of the New York State Police arrested 30-year-old Rodney D. Wood of Massena on Sept. 3.
He was charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs (1st offense), criminal possession of a controlled substance (7th degree), and issued vehicle and traffic tickets.
At approximately 1:41 a.m. on that date, Troopers observed a blue 2020 Ford traveling on State Route 56 in the town of Louisville with an expired registration.
The Troopers initiated a traffic stop and interviewed the driver, identified as Wood.
During the interview, Wood exhibited signs of impairment.
The Troopers administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), which Wood failed.
He was then placed under arrest.
While searching Wood and the vehicle, the Troopers discovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Wood was transported to the State Police station in Massena for processing.
He was released on appearance tickets, which are returnable to the Town of Louisville Court for a later date in November.
