UTICA — Four juveniles have been charged in connection with a break-in at Albany Street School on July 19.

Utica police responded to the school regarding an alarm activation and were met by school personnel who reviewed surveillance video.

The video showed several juveniles entering the building through an access area on the roof after climbing a fence and jumping onto the roof.

Once inside the building, the juveniles stole athletic equipment before fleeing the school.

The case was assigned to an investigator with the Juvenile Aid Unit due to the perceived ages of the individuals involved.

Four suspects were identified with assistance from the School District and the Mohawk Valley Crime Analysis Center.

The suspects are ages 14, 14, 16, and 17, and their identities will not be released due to their ages.

All were charged with burglary in the third degree and petit larceny.

Appearance tickets were issued returnable to Family Court/Probation.

Additional charges may be filed as the identities of other parties are developed.
