Somerville police report commercial break-in, workplace assault with hammer

SOMERVILLE — A male suspect entered a Lincoln Street business and rummaged through items but nothing was reported missing during a breaking and entering incident that occurred Aug. 27 at approximately 4:04 a.m., according to Somerville Police Department reports.

Officers responded to the commercial break-in after speaking with the business owner who reported the incident.

In a separate incident, police took a report Aug. 26 at approximately 10:02 p.m. regarding a workplace assault where a victim reported his boss threw a rock at him and attempted to strike him with a hammer.

Police also responded to a fight involving multiple juveniles at Autumn Street and Broadway on Aug. 30 at approximately 5:51 p.m.

Officers observed the juveniles fighting in the street and confiscated a knife from one of the juveniles.

Additional crimes reported during the period included three motor vehicle thefts, nine bicycle thefts, six car break-ins, four incidents of vandalism, one motor vehicle vandalism and one package theft.
