NEWBURY — Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks arrested a 35-year-old man on an active warrant Thursday while assisting with an animal abuse investigation.
Jason Cuthbertson of Newbury was taken into custody at approximately 1:36 p.m. at a residence on Evergreen Drive.
State police were assisting Vermont Game Wardens with a report of animal abuse when they discovered Cuthbertson had an outstanding arrest warrant.
Cuthbertson was arrested without incident and processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.
He was then transported to the Northeast Correctional Complex.
Cuthbertson is scheduled to appear in Orange County Superior Court – Criminal Division on Sept. 5 at 12:30 p.m.
