BOSTON — A 32-year-old Canton man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in May in Dorchester.
Jordan Evans was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Thursday on Revere Street in Canton by Boston Police Fugitive Unit officers with assistance from Massachusetts State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Evans was wanted for the murder of Shakar Caterson, 35, of Dorchester.
Evans is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on charges of murder, carry a firearm without a license second offense, firearm violation with two prior violent/drug crimes, discharge a firearm within 500 feet of a building, possession of ammunition without an FID card subsequent offense, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license second offense.
The shooting occurred at 11 p.m. May 3 in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street in Dorchester.
Officers assigned to District B-2 responded to a radio call for a person shot.
Upon arrival, officers found Caterson suffering from a gunshot wound.
Boston EMS transported Caterson to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
