TAYLOR — Two men were arrested on weapons charges Aug. 30 following a disturbance at a residence in the town.
Brenden J. Strobeck, 21, who is homeless, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, three counts of criminal use of a firearm in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Joshua A. Aldrich, 43, of Floral Avenue in the city of Cortland, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.
The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the disturbance at 11:12 a.m.
Prior to officers’ arrival, information was given that firearms were involved.
The investigation revealed that Strobeck possessed multiple loaded firearms including one with a defaced serial number.
Officers also discovered that Aldrich was in possession of a handgun without having a New York state pistol permit.
Strobeck was arraigned through the Centralized Arraignment Process at 8 p.m. Aug. 30 and was remanded to the Cortland County Jail on $7,500 cash bail.
Aldrich was issued an appearance ticket.
Both men are scheduled to appear in Town of Taylor Court on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.
