White Plains police charge two juveniles after armed robbery at Eastview Middle School

WHITE PLAINS — Two juveniles were charged with multiple felonies following an armed robbery during a planned watch sale at Eastview Middle School on the morning of July 25.

According to White Plains Public Safety, a juvenile victim had arranged to meet the suspects to sell a watch using the OfferUp application.

During the transaction at the school, the victim allowed one suspect to try on the watch.

Police said the suspect refused to return the watch, and when the victim demanded it back, both suspects threatened the victim.

One suspect reportedly reached into his backpack, displayed a handgun and placed the victim in fear of serious physical injury.

The suspects then fled the scene with the watch.

The victim immediately contacted 911 and provided descriptions of the suspects.

Patrol officers canvassed the area and found both juveniles near Westchester Avenue.

A foot pursuit followed, and one suspect was apprehended in the Amherst parking lot, where officers recovered a handgun from his backpack.

The second suspect initially fled but was later identified with help from the Yonkers Police Department.

After multiple attempts to locate him, the second suspect was ultimately apprehended without incident.

Both juveniles were charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and menacing in the second degree.

No injuries were reported.
