Springfield police arrest 6 in drug trafficking investigation

SPRINGFIELD — Members of the Springfield Police Firearms Investigation Unit arrested six suspects Monday morning after executing a search warrant on the 0-100 block of Lowell Street.

The arrests occurred at approximately 6:05 a.m. Sept. 1 following a months-long investigation into William Semidey for the illegal distribution of drugs from his home on Lowell Street.

The operation involved detectives under the direction of Lieutenant Jaime Bruno, members of the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Detectives detained five adults and a 16-year-old male during the search warrant execution.

Two small children were also inside the home at the time of the arrests.

During the search, detectives recovered approximately 258 grams of cocaine, 387 bags of fentanyl, $8,512 in cash, a loaded firearm and additional ammunition.

William Semidey, 46, of Springfield faces nine charges including cocaine trafficking 200+ grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a firearm without an FID card – subsequent offense, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, two counts of reckless endangerment of a child, and possession of a firearm with three prior violent/drug crimes.

Jennifer Plumey, 40, of Springfield is charged with cocaine trafficking 200+ grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child.

Jordan Montalvo, 20, of Springfield faces charges of cocaine trafficking 200+ grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child.

Justin Semidey, 20, of West Hartford, Connecticut is charged with cocaine trafficking 200+ grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child.

Oscar Carrasco, 45, of Springfield faces charges of cocaine trafficking 200+ grams, possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug, conspiracy to violate drug law, possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and two counts of reckless endangerment of a child.

The name, charges and booking photo of the 16-year-old arrested will not be released due to his age.
