SACO — Two Burlington residents were arrested by Maine State Police on Aug. 29 in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries reported in Saco.
Lacey Norton, 30, and Kyle Fielden, 32, were taken into custody after a state trooper on routine patrol in rural western Maine spotted their vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.
The arrests followed reports of several motor vehicle burglaries in Saco on Aug. 26 and 27.
Two of the targeted vehicles had their windows smashed to gain entry, according to the Saco Police Department.
Saco police detectives investigating the crimes identified an older Subaru Forester as the suspects’ vehicle and obtained a photograph that was shared with regional law enforcement agencies.
The Maine State Police trooper who made the traffic stop had received the vehicle information from Saco police.
Both suspects were taken to York County Jail, where they were interviewed and charged by Saco detectives.
Fielden was charged with two counts of felony burglary of a motor vehicle.
Norton was charged with two counts of theft by deception and two counts of misuse of identification.
Both are scheduled for arraignment on Nov. 19 at the York County Judicial Center.
Property associated with the vehicle burglaries has been recovered.
