ROCHESTER — A man was killed in a motorcycle crash on State Route 209 in the town of Rochester, according to New York State Police.
Troopers from the Ellenville barracks responded to a report of a crash at approximately 6:11 p.m. on September 1.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound when, for unknown reasons, it left the roadway via the western shoulder and entered a wooded area.
The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Timothy Avery, 58, of Kerhonkson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing.
