LINCOLN — Rhode Island State Police made six arrests over the weekend on charges ranging from driving under the influence to outstanding warrants.
On Saturday, Aug. 30 at 10:14 a.m., troopers arrested George Collazo, 48, of Newport, for an active Superior Court bench warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of possession with intent to distribute.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Douglas Avenue in Providence.
Collazo was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
On Saturday, Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m., troopers arrested Sedat Emlek, 30, of North Providence, for two counts of failure to stop for accident resulting in damage to attended vehicle and reckless driving and other offenses against public safety, first offense.
The arrest resulted from a barracks investigation and Emlek subsequently responded to the barracks.
Emlek was processed, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.
Also on Saturday, Aug. 31 at 2:30 p.m., troopers arrested Francisco Santos, 30, of Providence, on a Superior Court full bench warrant on the charge of domestic violence – unlawful breaking and entering originating from the Providence Police Department.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Route 95 South in Pawtucket.
Santos was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
On Saturday, Aug. 30 at 11:35 p.m., troopers arrested Mirian Lima, 31, of Pawtucket, for forgery and counterfeiting of registration plates.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Sheridan Street in Central Falls.
Lima was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released with a future Sixth Division District Court arraignment date.
On Sunday, Aug. 31 at 1:46 a.m., troopers arrested Jessica Thibault, 36, of Warwick, for two Superior Court full bench warrants for the original charge of possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance originating from the Providence Police Department.
The arrest resulted from a motor vehicle stop on Broad Street in Central Falls.
Thibault was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks and transported to the Adult Correctional Institutions Women’s Intake Center.
On Sunday, Aug. 31 at 4:05 a.m., troopers arrested Moises Medrano, 36, of Malden, Massachusetts, for driving under the influence of liquor – BAC unknown – first offense, possession of a Schedule I to V controlled substance – less than 10 grams (ketamine), and refusal to submit to a chemical test – first offense.
The arrest resulted from troopers responding to a disabled motor vehicle on Route 146 North in North Providence.
Medrano was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, arraigned by the Justice of the Peace, and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
