ALBANY — A 36-year-old Albany man has been charged in connection with weapon possession early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to the area of Washington Avenue and Ontario Street around 3:30 a.m. for reports of an individual with a handgun.
Upon arrival, officers observed an individual matching the description provided and attempted to stop him.
Sean Brown Jr. fled on foot, but after a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody.
Brown was in possession of a loaded handgun and a quantity of cocaine.
Brown has been charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, and one count of Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd.
He is scheduled to be arraigned this morning in Albany City Criminal Court.
