RHINEBECK — A 49-year-old man was arrested Thursday after allegedly touching a female passenger without consent aboard an Amtrak train at Rhinecliff Train Station.
Antonio G. Perez of Valatie was charged with forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor, following the incident that occurred at approximately 12:12 p.m.
State Police from Rhinebeck, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and MTA Police responded to the report at the station located at 455 Rhinecliff Road.
The victim reported she was seated in the same row as Perez, who was unknown to her, when he forcibly touched her without consent.
The victim was able to distance herself from Perez and waited for law enforcement to arrive at the station.
Perez was taken into custody at the scene.
He was arraigned in Red Hook Town Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center.
Bail was set at $1,000 cash, $2,000 bond or $10,000 partially secured bond.
A full stay away order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
