Car strikes bicyclist in Randolph intersection

RANDOLPH — A New Hampshire woman struck a bicyclist Saturday afternoon after failing to stop at a stop sign on Vermont Route 66.

Kristina Salls, 22, of Claremont, New Hampshire, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze when she failed to come to a complete stop before entering Route 66 at approximately 12:48 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

As Salls entered the intersection, she struck Aaron Gouw, 30, of Scotts Valley, California, who was riding his bicycle eastbound on Route 66.

Gouw sustained minor injuries in the crash but was not transported to a hospital.

Salls was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Her vehicle sustained minor damage to the front driver side of the hood.

Salls was issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

The Randolph Police Department and White River Valley Ambulance assisted Vermont State Police troopers at the scene.

Road conditions were dry and weather was cloudy at the time of the crash.
