BOSTON — Officers assigned to the Drug Control Unit of District A-1 arrested a Fall River man Saturday on drug trafficking offenses after observing suspicious activity in Boston Common.
Devyn Barbosa, 30, was taken into custody after officers saw him counting and sorting an unknown item into his hand, leading them to believe he was concealing illegal drugs.
Officers recovered a vape container from Barbosa’s person during the initial stop.
A search incident to arrest revealed 54 plastic bags of crack cocaine, 25 plastic bags of fentanyl, and one plastic bag of crystal methamphetamine.
The drugs were determined to be 18 grams of crack cocaine and 10 grams of fentanyl.
Officers also recovered $175 in U.S. currency from the suspect’s fanny pack.
Barbosa is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of trafficking of Class A, trafficking of Class B, and possession with intent to distribute Class B.
