CLIFTON PARK — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Saratoga Springs man Wednesday on charges including first-degree rape.
Samson R. Bhatti, 28, faces charges of rape in the first degree, a Class B felony, along with third-degree assault and second-degree unlawful imprisonment, both Class A misdemeanors.
Bhatti is accused of engaging in vaginal sexual contact with another person by forcible compulsion Monday in Clifton Park.
He is also charged with restraining the person and intentionally causing physical injury to the victim.
Bhatti was arraigned before Judge Robert A. Rybak in Clifton Park Town Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail.
Bail was set at $10,000 cash, a $20,000 secured bond, or a $100,000 partially secured bond.
